How to avoid scams using common sense

15.10.2015 15:55

Today almost every person who has an internet connection had tried, at least once, to earn some money online. As we all know there are tons of online scams out there, some are dead obvious, other are well masked.

In this article I am going to tell some tips so that you will be able to recognise scam sites easier and, overall, keep you hard earned money safe! :)

  1. The age of the site

If you are thinking about joining a new money making site, first take into consideration it’s age. Most scam sites do not survive even 6 months, because either the owner has decided that he has scammed enough money, either the business has gone bankrupt.

If you want to join a trusted site, choose one that is at least 1, or even 2 years old.

Now ther is an exception. If the new site is offering you some free cash that you can use and then withdraw later, by all means join. It will not cost you anything if things go south!

  1. Is it a ponzi scheme!

If you come across a site that offers unbelievable returns for money invested stay away! Those sites are most likely ponzi schemes, where they pay you with the money invested later by others. Those scams have a habit of stop paying and disappearing overnight.

Also, if those sites are young(under 2 years) you will have a high chance of losing everything you invest.

  1. You have to pay first before you are allowed to work

We all have seen those sites who promise us infinite amounts of money, if we only buy some product or mombership. Yeah, if you are making so much cash why don’t you ask me to pay a week afer you have showed me how to get rich?

Those sites are usually ponzi schemes, so don’t ever bother... If you have to pay to work, you’re scammed!

Now, this is important. Multi level marketing(MLMs) does not fall into this category. They are a bit more complicated and I will cover the  subject in another article! :)

  1. Read reviews

This might be a bit stupid, but a lot of people have ignored this seemingly obvoius advice, including me.

If most of the internet says that some site is scam, it is probably a scam. If for example you find 10 negative reviews and 2 positive, most likely those positive reviews were written by the site owners.

  1. If you don’t know what you are doing, don’t do it!

This is not so much a scam detecting tip, but more of a common sense advice that will keep your money safe.

There are a lot of legit money making opportunities that can bring you lots of money, if you know what you are doing! Things like Forex, stock trading, binary options etc. fall into this category.

If you know how to work there go ahead, if not stay away. The guys running those sites will not teach you how to earn moeny so that they will pocket yours once you lose them.

Plain simple, If you don’t know what you are doing, don’t do it!

So those were 6 tips about avoiding scam sites. Hope you are now better educated and know how to keep you money safer.

If you know some more useful tips, or want to ask me something, do it in the comments.

I’d love to hear your opinion!

Best wishes,

Edmond
